This is a purchase of digital content, not a donation or charitable contribution.
Backpack Coins are digital content / virtual currency. When you complete a purchase, Backpack Coins are delivered to the BackpackOT account you were logged into at checkout, and can be used only within BackpackOT. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or redeemed for real-world currency, and do not represent an investment, a bank balance, or an ownership interest of any kind. See our Terms of Service for how Virtual Content works more generally.
The price shown at checkout, including VAT where applicable, is the amount charged by an individual, without a separate registered legal entity for this project. Your bank or payment provider may separately apply currency conversion or transaction fees; those are set by them, not by us.
We may change prices for future purchases at any time. A price change never affects a purchase you have already completed.
Backpack Coins are normally delivered to your account shortly after your payment is confirmed. Delivery is not always instantaneous: it can be affected by delays from the payment provider, by technical processing time on our side, or by manual review where we reasonably suspect fraud or a security issue.
If your Backpack Coins have not arrived within a reasonable time after a successful payment, please contact backpackot@gmail.com with your payment reference.
By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method you selected.
If you are under 18, you need the authorization of a parent or legal guardian to make a purchase, where required by applicable law.
Under consumer law in many countries, purchases of digital content made online normally come with a statutory right of withdrawal (a "cooling-off period"). That right is typically lost once delivery of digital content begins with your express consent and acknowledgement that you thereby lose that right.
Because Backpack Coins are only useful once they are in your account, checkout asks you to separately confirm that you want immediate delivery and understand what that means for the withdrawal right, before your payment is submitted. We record that confirmation, together with the Purchase Terms version in effect, against your purchase.
Once delivered, Backpack Coins are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law -- for example where a purchase was not delivered, the digital content was defective, a payment was unauthorized, or another mandatory consumer-protection right applies. Nothing in these Purchase Terms limits such rights.
Outside of those cases, we may still choose to review an exceptional refund request at our discretion. Doing so does not create a general entitlement to a refund in other cases.
If a transaction looks wrong to you, please contact backpackot@gmail.com first so we can look into it -- most issues are resolved faster that way than through a payment dispute. This does not affect any legitimate right you have to raise a dispute with your payment provider or bank.
Filing a fraudulent chargeback, or abusing the chargeback process for a purchase that was correctly delivered, is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in restrictions on your account.
As described in our Terms of Service, BackpackOT is continuously developed, and game balance or item functionality can change over time. Purchasing Backpack Coins, and later spending them within the game, does not guarantee that game mechanics or item balance will stay unchanged. This does not excuse non-delivery of a purchase or a defective transaction, which are covered by Section 7 above.
