BackpackOT Rules

1. Character Names
Character names must be appropriate for the game world.

The following are not allowed:

• Offensive, abusive, discriminatory, hateful, or sexually explicit names.
• Names impersonating BackpackOT staff or attempting to mislead other players.
• Names intentionally created to imitate another player with the purpose of deception.
• Nonsensical names, random letter combinations, or names that do not resemble a character name.
• Names referring to real-world celebrities, political figures, organizations, or official titles.

The BackpackOT Team reserves the right to require a character name change if a name is considered inappropriate.

2. Cheating & Exploitation
BackpackOT is intended to provide a fair and competitive experience for everyone. Any form of cheating is strictly prohibited.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Exploiting bugs or unintended game mechanics for personal gain.
• Using bots, macros, scripts, or any software that automates gameplay. Simple quality-of-life features that do not automate gameplay (such as rebinding keys or changing UI layouts) are permitted.
• Modifying the game client or using third-party software that provides an unfair advantage.
• Multi-clienting or controlling multiple characters simultaneously.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to another player's account.

If you discover a bug or exploit, please report it to the BackpackOT Team as soon as possible. Deliberately abusing known bugs or exploits may result in severe penalties.

3. Staff & Investigations
BackpackOT staff are responsible for maintaining a fair environment for all players.

The following are prohibited:

• Impersonating a staff member.
• Claiming to have influence over staff decisions.
• Providing false or misleading information during an investigation.
• Threatening, harassing, or attempting to intimidate staff members.

Staff decisions are final unless reviewed through an official appeal process.

4. Player Conduct & PvP
PvP is an important part of BackpackOT, but it should never be used to deliberately ruin another player's experience.

The following may result in disciplinary action:

• Repeatedly killing or harassing players solely to prevent them from playing the game.
• Abusing game mechanics to trap, block, or otherwise intentionally disrupt other players.

Competitive gameplay, wars, rivalries, and normal PvP are all considered part of the game and will generally not be moderated.

5. Character Trading
Characters may only be bought, sold, or transferred through the official BackpackOT Character Bazaar.

Any attempt to trade characters outside of the Character Bazaar is strictly prohibited and may result in account penalties.

The BackpackOT Team reserves the right to reverse, cancel, or investigate any character transfer involving fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or violations of these rules.

Enforcement
Violations of these rules may result in one or more of the following actions:

• Warning
• Mandatory character rename
• Temporary account suspension
• Permanent account suspension
• Removal of items, experience, skills, or other game progress where appropriate

The severity of the penalty is determined by the BackpackOT Team based on the nature of the violation, previous offenses, and the overall impact on the game.

Final Notes
The BackpackOT Team reserves the right to interpret and enforce these rules in situations not explicitly covered where doing so is necessary to preserve the fairness, integrity, and enjoyment of the game.

These rules may be updated at any time without prior notice. Continued use of BackpackOT constitutes acceptance of the latest version of these rules.
